Wilfrid Scawen Blunt

Naked I came into the world of pleasure,
And naked come I to this house of pain.
Here at the gate I lay down my life's treasure,
My pride, my garments and my name with men.
The world and I henceforth shall be as twain,
No sound of me shall pierce for good or ill
These walls of grief. Nor shall I hear the vain
Laughter and tears of those who love me still.

Within, what new life waits me! Little ease,
Cold lying, hunger, nights of wakefulness,
Harsh orders given, no voice to soothe or please,
Poor thieves for friends, for books rules meaningless;
This is the grave--nay, Hell. Yet, Lord of Might,
Still in Thy light my spirit shall see light.

 FL Cannabis Laws (2023 Update)

Marijuana is still illegal in Florida as we speak. However, recent changes in state law have legalized the use and possession of medical marijuana by qualifying patients.

Some Florida cities have decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana which will result in a fine rather than an arrest.

Growing marijuana in Florida is illegal, even for medical patients. When you’re caught growing marijuana, you’ll be charged with possession, and your penalty will depend on the number of plants in your house.

Traveling with marijuana is only available for patients in Florida. However, you can’t take your medicine across state lines because that will be considered drug trafficking.

Does that mean you need to be ill to legally enjoy marijuana in Florida?

Not exactly.

Ever heard of delta 8 THC?

This newly discovered cannabinoid is making big headlines in the industry. It’s milder than delta 9 THC, doesn’t get you as anxious in high doses, and the best part — it’s federally legal.

 Maud: A Monodrama - Part 2, Section 5

by Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson

V

I

Dead, long dead,
Long dead!
And my heart is a handful of dust,
And the wheels go over my head,
And my bones are shaken with pain,
For into a shallow grave they are thrust,
Only a yard beneath the street,
And the hoofs of the horses beat, beat,
The hoofs of the horses beat,
Beat into my scalp and my brain,
With never an end to the stream of passing feet,
Driving, hurrying, marrying, burying,
Clamour and rumble, and ringing and clatter,
And here beneath it is all as bad,
For I thought the dead had peace, but it is not so;
To have no peace in the grave, is that not sad?
But up and down and to and fro,
Ever about me the dead men go;
And then to hear a dead man chatter
Is enough to drive one mad.

II

Wretchedest age, since Time began,
They cannot even bury a man;
And though we paid our tithes in the days that are gone,
Not a bell was rung, not a prayer was read;
It is that which makes us loud in the world of the dead;
There is none that does his work, not one;
A touch of their office might have sufficed,
But the churchmen fain would kill their church,
As the churches have killed their Christ.

III

See, there is one of us sobbing,
No limit to his distress;
And another, a lord of all things, praying
To his own great self, as I guess;
And another, a statesman there, betraying
His party-secret, fool, to the press;
And yonder a vile physician, blabbing
The case of his patient — all for what?
To tickle the maggot born in an empty head,
And wheedle a world that loves him not,
For it is but a world of the dead.

IV

Nothing but idiot gabble!
For the prophecy given of old
And then not understood,
Has come to pass as foretold;
Not let any man think for the public good,
But babble, merely for babble.
For I never whispered a private affair
Within the hearing of cat or mouse,
No, not to myself in the closet alone,
But I heard it shouted at once from the top of the house;
Everything came to be known.
Who told him we were there?

V

Not that gray old wolf, for he came not back
From the wilderness, full of wolves, where he used to lie;
He has gathered the bones for his o'ergrown whelp to crack;
Crack them now for yourself, and howl, and die.

Islam: The Eighth Wonder of the World? Score: More about Printer Friendly Send to a Friend Save as PDF Read More...
Islam

Ahmad al-Baghdad

"It is the only nation that believes it is in the right – in every way – while all others are wrong."

Translation and Postface by Raymond Ibrahim

As we know, the wonders of the world are seven; but there is an eighth "wonder -of-wonders" not counted among the seven: this is the "Muslim nation [umma]." I specifically did not say the "Islamic nation," for within this Muslim nation are wondrous matters not witnessed by any other nation since Allah Almighty created Adam. Here are some of these wonders:

1. It is the only nation that believes it is in the right—in every way—while all others are wrong;

2. The only nation that exonerates or lightens the punishment of an indicted criminal if he is Muslim and has learned some Quranic verses;

3. The only nation where a cleric evades indictment for inciting murder if he describes one of his adversaries as "an apostate";

4. The only nation that does not penalize a murderer if he killed "an apostate";

5. The only nation that shows leniency and assuages punishments for the "honor killing" of a sister or a wife;

6. The only nation whose holy book [Quran] starts with the word "read" [iqra'] and yet it is among the least nations that reads books, if any at all;

7. The only nation that still uses the word "infidel" [kafir] against those who oppose its clerics or religious groups;

8. The only nation where the ruling of a fatwa [religious edict] upstages the ruling of the law—and yet it brags about being a nation that upholds the "rule of law";

9. The only nation that does not contribute to the modern era—not even by producing a tooth brush—and yet brags about its extinct civilization.

10. The only nation that insults and condemns the West—yet lives as a parasite relying on the West in every way.
