''JEWS HATE Jesus'' posters are being put up around Memphis

Well, folks, this goes tidy with the story I wrote yesterday about race and gender being too big of an issue in the Presidential race, and that we really haven't evolved much from the racism and sexism of the 60s.

Now, Congressman Steve Cohen, who represents his District better than anyone possibly could, is the target of antisemitism, many who say his black challenger, Nikki Tinker is behind.

If you thought race was an uncomfortable issue in the Democratic presidential primary, wait 'til you get a load of what's going on in the Democratic primary in the Memphis area's 9th District of Tennessee, where a shockingly worded flier paints Jewish Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) as a Jesus hater.

"Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen and the JEWS HATE Jesus," blares the flier, which Cohen himself received in the mail -- inducing gasps -- last week.

Circulated by an African-American minister from Murfreesboro Tenn., which isn't even in Cohen's district, the literature encourages other black leaders in Memphis to "see to it that one and ONLY one black Christian faces this opponent of Christ and Christianity in the 2008 election."

Congressman Cohen's record has been exemplary in representing his mostly black district.

It seems to me, and many others, his main opponent Nikki Tinker, who has played the race card before, is behind this antisemitism. Yesterday, Nikki Tinker refused to condemn the antisemitic fliers.

I call on Nikki Tinker to denounce antisemitism in all forms,especially against her main opponent, Congressman Steve Cohen.

Nikki, if you think you're so worthy of calling yourself Congresswoman, you should denounce hate speech. If not, well, it will speak loudly about your character, and come election time, we will pound you into the ground with it.

For all decent people, I encourage you to donate five dollars to Cohen's campaign(there's a button on the right of this page that says "Cohen/Congress)to stop this type of hate speech coming from his opposition and her supporters.

And to Nikki Tinker and her antisemitic supporters, let me remind you that Jesus was the best Jew who ever lived.
