Islamic extremists embedded in the United States — posing as Hispanic nationals — are partnering with violent Mexican drug gangs to finance terror networks in the Middle East, according to a Drug Enforcement Administration report.

"Since drug traffickers and terrorists operate in a clandestine environment, both groups utilize similar methodologies to function ... all lend themselves to facilitation and are among the essential elements that may contribute to the successful conclusion of a catastrophic event by terrorists," said the confidential report, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times.

The 2005 report outlines an ongoing scheme in which multiple Middle Eastern drug-trafficking and terrorist cells operating in the U.S. fund terror networks overseas, aided by established Mexican cartels with highly sophisticated trafficking routes.

"On September 24, President George W. Bush appeared at a press conference in the White House Rose Garden to announce a crackdown on the financial networks of terrorists and those who support them. �U.S. banks that have assets of these groups or individuals must freeze their accounts,� Bush declared. �And U.S. citizens or businesses are prohibited from doing business with them.

The question remains: Did George W. Bush collude with Saudi Arabia to murder thousands of Americans on 9/11?

THE Saudis' efforts to keep a veil of secrecy over their sup port for al Qaeda and Hamas got a shot in the arm last week, as a British publisher opted to suppress a controversial book on the financing of terror.

Facing the mere threat of a lawsuit from Saudi billionaire Khalid bin Mahfouz, Cambridge University Press agreed to pulp all the unsold copies of "Alms of Jihad: Charity and Terrorism in the Islamic World," issue a public apology to Mahfouz and pay his legal expenses and substantial undisclosed damages.

News that Israel is a free and safe democratic country that respects human rights is spreading quickly amongst Muslim Sudanese refugees from Darfur who are fleeing genocide. On many accounts Europe - and the West at large - is facing increasingly unsolvable problems concerning matters such as security, immigration, xenophobia, international law, and civil liberties.

European states over the past decades did not understand that the threats Israel was encountering in those years were essentially precursors of the menaces they would face as well.

Had leading European politicians realized that a broader assault by radical Islam was underway - ultimately directed at their countries rather than at Israel alone - they likely would not have made the major errors they committed - particularly in the area of immigration - that have undermined European security today.

Reading reviews of the Israeli documentary "Hot House" has been a traumatic experience for me. Is this normal? I doubt if even psychologists could say.

No compassionate state would subject a mother to such torture. No sane government would help a cold-blooded mass murderer ascend a cinematic soapbox, spew her venom and get her smiling, glamorous promotional picture in the international papers.

But Israel, in the throes of an existential war on terror, saw no reason to deny Ahlam Tamimi - the person who planned the Jerusalem terror massacre that killed my daughter - that privilege. She and dozens of other Palestinian terrorists were allowed to star in a documentary film that has sold out theaters.
